The two portraits, one male and one female, form the focus of this sampler. Framed by a flower border, the two look noble and dignified. This is how people liked to portray themselves in the Middle Ages. We know similar representations from medallions or from painting. In addition to the portraits, there are lush borders and ornaments on the sampler that merge into one another. The sampler is embroidered on 14-thread-count Zweigart honey-colored linen. The cream-colored silk gives the embroidery a natural, elegant sheen and harmonises wonderfully with the linen colour.

The embroidery pattern is available individually or as a pack including linen, thread and needle. Our packs always contain the silk yarn Soie d'Alger.
