This sampler from the German National Museum in Nuremberg is three hundred years old. An abundance of flower motifs are spread over the picture. Next to surface filling you find two alphabets, stripes with geometrical and plant patterns, flowers in a vase, a reclining stag and a catouche in form of a circle that incorporates a floral design and enclose initials.
